The 4AH batteries have plenty of lasting time and being able to use them on my other DeWalt 20v cordless tools is a bonus.Battery technology is improving all the time and making battery-powered tools more affordable and reliable. The only drawback I've seen so far is that the saw is somewhat heavy in the front end, but if this is necessary to build a stout product, so be it. With a 6 TPI (teeth per inch) blade this saw is used around the property trimming wooden garden plants when needed, the variable speed trigger making this work easier.

The DCS380 is well constructed and the 4-way blade positioning ability is a plus when sawing in close quarters.
